Properly Fuel Your Body

How to Properly Fuel Your Body Every Day

If you are researching ways how to properly fuel your body, you know that food is critical, but there are other things your body needs to get through the day, including relaxation. Keep reading to learn how to fuel your body to get through the day.

Nutrition

Making better food choices is essential for maintaining weight, building muscle, and ensuring you have enough fuel to get through the day. A balanced diet will include around 6 to 10 grams of carbs per day per kilogram of body weight.

Good quality protein from poultry and fish (or soybeans, legumes, and chickpeas for vegetarians) is essential for building and repairing muscles. Research suggests that you should consume around 2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight.

The body needs fats, so don't ignore them even when trying to lose weight. Healthy unsaturated fats from avocados, flaxseed, nuts, and canola oils are essential for your body to utilize vitamins like A, D, E, and K.

If you plan on an intense workout, you'll need to fuel up, but avoid eating right before a workout to avoid any GI issues that might cause you to crash and burn. Try to eat a healthy meal 3 hours before a workout, or at least 1 hour before if time is a factor.

Find Time to Relax

The body needs adequate rest to stay healthy. Get a good 8 to 9 hours of sleep every night, and don't forget to fit some me time in between work, exercise, and family time doing something you enjoy.

You can relax your muscles and relax your mind after a workout by hitting the sauna. Saunas are an enjoyable way to flush out your pores, create a healthy glow, and just relax in general.

Try a portable steam sauna or sauna blanket at home. These devices are excellent alternatives for when you can't get to the gym or want to have access to a sauna whenever it's convenient.

The heat of a sauna delivers numerous health benefits, and a portable sauna is one of the best ways we know to ensure 3 to 4 sessions every week, even while you are catching up with your streaming TV watch list. Check out our website to learn more about how to fuel your body with a portable sauna.
